Prayer is an important part of our weekly meetings and daily lives. Here are a few prayers that we feel embody the spirit of our mission…
In addition, the Sons of Thunder share a special Marian Devotion. Each Tuesday, the members of the Sons of Thunder say a rosary – in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

“O dearest St. Joseph,
We consecrate ourselves to your honor and give ourselves to you,
that you may always be our father, our protector
and our guide in the way of salvation.
Obtain for us a greater purity of heart
and fervent love of the interior life.
After your example may we do all our actions
for the greater glory of God,
in union with the Divine Heart of Jesus
and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
O Blessed St. Joseph, pray for us,
that we may share in the peace and joy of your holy death. Amen.”
“Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.”
“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God,
Strengthen us, Your Sons of Thunder.
Strengthen us when our courage falters
and when the weight of our responsibilities feels heavy.
Strengthen us in the quiet battles no one sees,
in temptation, in depression, in anxiety.
Grant us the grace of boldness,
not in anger or noise,
but in steadfast virtue,
in the courageous witness of men who refuse to abandon You.
Guard us from the seductions of the enemy camp,
from the desire of false successes,
from the pride that isolates
and the shame that silences.
Unite us as brothers,
that we may lift one another when we fall,
encourage one another when we grow weary,
and stand shoulder to shoulder in the crucible of life.
Lord, make us faithful in prayer,
constant in sacrifice,
generous in service,
and humble in victory.
And when our efforts fail,
be our strength.
When our vision dims,
be our light.
When our hearts tremble,
be our peace.
Christ our King,
form us, forge us and lead us
that in all things we may go forth in
Your name, Your love and Your mercy. Amen”
These are some of books that have helped deepen the faith of our members. If you’re looking to deepen your faith – this reading list is a great place to start.

“In this book, Kennedy Hall explores the traditional wisdom of the Catholic Church on all things pertaining to masculinity. It is no secret that in our day it is hard to define what a man truly is, let alone how he should act. With all the modern obstacles that work against forming virtuous men, Kennedy Hall provides a solution with this book. Terror of Demons: Reclaiming Traditional Catholic Masculinity will help men of all ages and stages in life to develop heroic masculine virtue, something greatly needed in our time.” Amazon Link
“Writing in the last years of the fourth century a.d., Saint Augustine of Hippo created what is at once the first true autobiography in Western literature and among the most sophisticated yet accessible theological arguments in the history of Christianity. With extraordinary candor and psychological acumen, Augustine recounts his passage from a life of sensuality, Manichaean superstition, and empty careerism to a genuine spiritual awakening, and he articulates views on marriage, morality, and faith that have shaped our discourse ever since. The Confessions allows us to appreciate both the startling modernity of Augustine’s insights and the imperishable poetry of his voice.” Amazon Link
“Women don’t feel comfortable telling a man what they wish he knew about dating. He s expected to know it. Unfortunately, the only time men receive specific guidelines is when they re being told what they re not supposed to do. As a result, very few know what they are supposed to do! What men want is a clear blueprint. Imagine how much simpler dating would be if women could just speak their minds! Therefore, Jason Evert surveyed more than a thousand women and asked them questions such as: · How would you want a man to ask you out? · How do you not want to be asked on a date? This book reveals their surprising answers…” Amazon Link
